This isn't California or Arizona. Suilven, Cul Mor, Stac Pollaidh, Cul Beg and Ben Mor Coigach are but 5 of the 30 or so stand alone monoliths that make the North-west Highlands of Scotland so special and so different from the cliched Highland landscaoe - the claustrophobic, largely cultivated glens of Perthshire, Argyll and Stirlingshire. Pitifully few in this country have the faintest grasp of the sheer vastness of wild land here. Too many people have too little knowledge of what exists north of Inverness. A sence of space exists here and on the Western Isles that simply doesn't exist anywhere in this country
