Rarely seen member of the shark and ray family. One of the few fish in British waters capable of producing electric shocks - up to 300 volts in this case. Its name is hard to fathom as it bears little resemblance to a torpedo. Fishermen call it the "fiddle fish" presumably because it bears little resemblance to a fiddle.
