PHOTO RESTORATION AND REPAIR

Do you have a favourite picture that is ruined by a piece of litter in the corner or some other blemish that you didn't notice when you took it? Have you accidently creased, torn or spilt a drink on a picture, or has a poor quality print faded in time through too much exposure to sunlight or fluorescent strip lights? Don't throw out damaged photographs. They can be fixed. Price is based on the degree of damage. Labour is charged at £15.00 per hour. The above picture took an hour and a half to repair. Colour pictures take longer to work on. The original photograph is not touched. Reprints are made on archival quality paper as per the prices listed further down this page.

RECOVERY OF DELETED PHOTOGRAPHS
Have you ever had that sinking feeling on realising that you've accidently deleted pictures from your digitial camera? If this happens, remove the memory card from the camera and call me straight away. I can not guarantee success - in which case no charge will be made - but in many instances photos can be recovered even when the camera tells you that there are no images on file.
Advertising works. If it didn't, people wouldn't spend money on it. And just as good advertising works, bad advertising has the opposite effect.
Whether you're selling a second hand car, a house, furniture, antiques or promoting coffee mornings, concerts or public events of any description, if you are relying on small scale advertising in the local press or public notice boards, a well constructed advert will work. If you are selling on E-bay, good photographs can make all the difference. Tasteless, badly stuck together "Clip-art", garish text with corny slogans looks awful and puts off far more people than it attracts. Assynt Photographics will design and print your advert (up to A3+ size) inexpensively and effectively regardless of what you're selling or promoting.

SCANNING AND ARCHIVING
Have you're old photographs, negatives and slides scanned to CD. For best results send negatives or transparencies. Please note; obvious dust or hair will be brushed off and if necesary film may be cleaned, but otherwise scans will be taken directly from the material in the condition it is supplied in. Digital dust and scratch removal will cost extra. Phone or e-mail me with job details for prices.
REPRINTS AND ENLARGEMENTS
Display quality enlargements from either digital files or photographs are available up to A3+ (13" x 19"). Again, best results are produced from digital files, negatives and transparencies - some scanned prints do not produce as good a result, especially if they have a textured surface. Please bear in mind that the quality of the enlargement is entirely dependent on the quality of the original. Although some sharpening can be applied, this is limited and can produce speckling. If I think that satisfactory results cannot be obtained I will tell you before hand. As a rough guide, photographs taken on 35mm film on a semi-decent camera can be enlarged to a maximum of A3(11" x 17") at a push. Photographs taken on 110 or disposable cameras will not stand enlargement to anything more than 6" x 9". High quality enlargements can be obtained from digital files but the number of pixels is not as important as the sensor size. An 8 megapixel camera the size of a credit card will not produce prints as good as those from a 4 megapixel SLR as the small sensor packed with too many light receptors causes "bleeding". All prints are produced on either a Canon or an Epson inkjet printer using printer manufacturers inks and the highest quality 255gsm+ paper. These are considerably more expensive than those you would get in High Street shops but the quality is more than proportionately higher.
- up to A5 - approx. 8" x 5.5" - £7.00
- up to A4 - approx. 11" x 8" - £12.00
- A4 to A3+ - approx. 12" x 18" - £22.00

MANIPULATION - BLAST THE PAST!
In this day and age, it is a sad fact that many marriages and relationships breakdown. Sometimes these breakdowns can be relatively harmonious, sometimes not. Then we are are left with the problem of photographs of otherwise happy family occasions with a loathed and detested ex-partner serving as a constant reminder of times we would rather forget. More often than not, these photos are consigned to a dark corner, never to see the light of day again. Modern digital technology now provides a solution that the Soviet era Russians could only dream of. Let Assynt Photographics obliterate those awkward and unpleasant memories. Banish that despised ex and those frightful in-laws forever. Send me the prints or negatives for the ultimate in stain removal. I can do for your memories what Persil can do for your whites. Otherwise cherished pictures can be taken out of the sideboard drawer, seamlessly retouched, reprinted and put back on the mantlepiece where they belong.
